World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to increase the gear score of an item up to 700 and also add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you bring them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For example an excellently broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't change much after an upgrade, and aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also have an unchanging bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Additionally, many weapons have an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon is present on a single unit. In certain instances, this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon can sustain on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity and level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue rise until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.
Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. While this is generally beneficial however, it could have negative consequences too. Upgrades can render items impossible to use, unless you are very lucky.
Armor items can also be upgraded to increase their stats. This can boost the defense of a chest or helm as well as belts and gloves. These will increase their required strength and agility. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it can sometimes roll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain upon upgrading, as well as the relative value of those stats. This means that a change from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving an attack damage of 3. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will strike three times less, since it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button within the item menu using the arrows that circle. This will roll an item and alter its stats but it will not reset the weapon's levels, or tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make all the difference to your survivability. Certain sets offer massive improvements in the resistance to curses, poison fire, magic, and other. This can make it easier to get through difficult areas. The more defense your character has the more value you get from every point of health you have and it's crucial to upgrade your armor as often as you can.
To improve your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and in order to unlock each fountain, you must complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each will vary. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, as an example can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which will allow you to remain competitive in frigid environments with a large group of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense to ensure you're able to survive a battle with your comrades.
Note that armor can't be upgraded in the same manner as weapons, so you'll need to work on enhancing it to increase physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power in the case of a Mage. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still be wearing at the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. Generally speaking, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to beat the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be useful to have a few upgrades of the chest armor and helmets that permit you to sneak past certain monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by a participant, produce an immediate effect. There are five kinds of potions that have different effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, increasing their effectiveness. Alternatively, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust the potions.
Upgrades to potion require a certain amount XP. This can be obtained by making them on a table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion used and the item's Rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI that lets you select the potions that you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they will offer when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total XP you have.
Once a potion is upgraded, it will not degrade until you use it again or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to rename it.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the mechanics of potions. Splash potions, for example are now available with a time of zero, not the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display of the item. The table of potion now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can now be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. This is the same for using a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will deplete the potion, and refill the bottle.
In addition, there are lingering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone is also added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The table of potions is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, like the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It could also be a small ornament or object that serves a function but is not important as a thimble. In some cultures a trinket can be used to express affection or friendship between family members.
official website can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons and armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets unlike other items that can be upgraded, can be swapped at will without losing stats.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are bought with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
The upgrade of a trinket can be an affordable alternative to buying an entirely new one. One can upgrade a trinket with as little 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base level as the old trinket, however, it will also come with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they are no longer useful and allows players to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players, making them a popular alternative to gold.

Players should upgrade their most important items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondaries, and finally other items of gear will not be replaced soon (for instance, a ring or cloak). When deciding on which items to upgrade, players must also take into account the class's preferred stats. For example when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should be focusing on upgrading their helm, chest, shoulders, and belt.
Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level once they are no longer useful and the new trinket will have an additional 1% upgrade bonus. Re-upgrading will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it can be saved using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades, but still cheaper than buying new ones.
